This month I wanted to talk about one of the newest services QPharm Inc. offers, Pouching. We recently purchased a Bartelt pouching machine to allow us produce 3 and 4 side sealed pouches made from various materials such as paper, foil or polyvinyl. These are single use powder or liquid filled pouches in the 10 – 40 gram/ml range.  Most often, these pouches are used for samples, health/sports nutrition products, personal care/cosmetic products, and food products.

Samples

Sample pouches are an excellent way to market and promote your product. Not only are they cost effective,  but they give your potential customer an opportunity to try out your product.  This is achieved with just a single serving rather than having to offer a full product unit. The sample pouches are useful because they allow for vast amount of text and can inform the customer of product directions, ingredients and contact information. With the recent advancements in printing and many material options available, these pouches can be very eye catching and attention grabbing – an important aspect in marketing one’s product.

Health Products & Sports Nutrition

Many of our customers use pouches for their finished product packaging. In most cases they will place a predetermined number of servings in a carton to meet a specific dose requirement. For example, if a product is to be take once daily for two weeks, 14 pouches will be inserted into a carton and directions specified on the outer box. This makes dosing much easier for the consumer, as aspect that can be utilized in a marketing campaign (the ease of use and less mess factor).

Personal Care/Cosmetic Products

These pouches are great for liquid soaps, body wash, creams, lotions and many more personal care and cosmetics type products. QPharm has the capability to fill all kinds of liquids up to approx. 40 ml (potentially more ml if required – contact us).

Food Products

Like health and sports nutrition products, many food product companies use pouches in their packaging. Products like hot chocolate, dry soups, sauces and seasoning, all utilize pouches for their single serving functionality.
